Nevertheless I am continually with You; You hold me by my right hand. — Psalm 73:23
When we go through trials, we may feel alone. Friends may disappear, family may not understand. And God? Well, we may think He’s nowhere to be had.
But Psalm 73:23 says otherwise: “Nevertheless I am continually with You; You hold me by my right hand.” We are continually with God, even when we feel alone, even when we feel abandoned, even when we feel left behind. We are continually with God, even when we feel alone, even when we feel abandoned, even when we feel left behind. Sometimes feelings are deceptive, especially when we’re sick or tired. One evening during treatment, I cried out in frustration to my husband. “I’ve done cancer on my own. I’ve had no help or support from anyone.”
Not only was my husband by my side, but so were my friends and church family.
He was holding me by my right hand.
Lord, if this reader feels alone, I pray she will sense Your presence, love, and care. Even if her friends and family fail her, You will never leave her nor forsake her, for You are continually with her. Thank You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
About Hope for the Valley
Hope for the Valley is the ministry God has entrusted to J.K. Stewart—wife, breast cancer survivor, and follower of Jesus Christ. Soon after her diagnosis, she started a women’s cancer support group. Two years later, she launched Hope for the Valley, a website of devotions and prayers for women with cancer. J.K. lives in Texas with her husband, dog, and four cats. When she’s not writing, she’s either studying her Bible, walking her dog, or vacuuming pet hair. Connect with her and the ministry of Hope for the Valley on Facebook, Twitter, or Google+.
